Godfathers of the Ocean ‘Learn to surf’ School program is dedicated to providing the opportunity and encouragement for all of its participants to experience the ultimate thrill of surfing! Munga Barry’s Godfathers of the Ocean Surf School is renowned as one of the most respected surf schools in the World. Our coach's present a unique 'hands on approach', with all our coaches are in the water at all times, ensuring your safety whilst you enjoy the thrill of riding a wave. For over seven years our surf school has had the pleasure in teaching many participants from all around the globe the thrill of surfing. The lessons provide surf safety awareness education, sun safety, surfing skills, fitness coaching and FUN! Former WCT surfer Michael 'Munga' Barry is respected around the world for his elite coaching abilities and surfing knowledge. Munga is the former contest director for the Billabong Pro in Jeffries Bay South Africa and the former National Coach for the Billabong Junior Surf Team Riders. Godfathers of the Ocean Surf School predominantly run the surfing school down at Burleigh Heads Beach; however we are able to schedule and run lessons at any beach from Coolangatta through to Main Beach. We offer pick upon request, on occasions depending on number of participants requiring the service a small fee maybe be required, just ask our staff when booking in. At our Burleigh Heads location all amenities are available; toilets, showers, cafes, kiosks, children playground area, BBQ facilities. Burleigh is one of Australia’s historic surfing locations, with many of our surfing stars of today starting their career at this very location.
